The Library of Congress dates the photograph at 1905, while Schmidly (2016) dates it to 1910, a few years after Bailey became Chief Field Naturalist of the Biological
Survey.[1] The photograph appeared in the Washington D.C. Evening Star, December 19, 1915, Page 3.
