This template adds articles to Category:Good article nominees. It is created automatically by the template substitution Format:Tlps, which should be placed at the top of the talk page of the nominated. The syntax is as follows:

{{GA nominee|~~~~~|page=|subtopic=|status=}}

where the subtopic keyword (optional) specifies where on the nominations page the article is listed, and the five tildes generate the date of nomination. The page parameter indicates the subpage where the review is stored. Both the date and the page parameter are automatically generated by {{subst:GAN}}. The status parameter is initially left blank, but can be changed to "on hold" or "2nd opinion" by reviewers to indicate the current status of the article. The date can be updated with each change of status. The template will change appearance as shown below.

{{GA nominee|12:54, 2 March 2008 (UTC)|page=2|subtopic=engineering|status=}} yields: Format:GA nominee

{{GA nominee|12:54, 2 March 2008 (UTC)|page=1|subtopic=art|status=}} yields: Format:GA nominee

{{GA nominee|use five tildes here to provide the current date|page=1|subtopic=geography|status=on hold}} yields: Format:GA nominee

{{GA nominee|page=1|subtopic=sport|status=2nd opinion}} yields: Format:GA nominee

Note that the subtopic makes the first link go to the right location on the nominations page. It is case insensitive and accepts a number of variants and abbreviations.
