Jack Foust Matlock, Jr. (n. 1 octombrie 1919) este un diplomat si profesor din Statele Unite. A fost ambassador la Moscova (6 aprilie 1987 – 11 ugust 1991) și Praga (28 septembrie 1981 – 20 septembrie 1983).

Misiunea specială la București din 1990 modificare

După căderea lui Nicolae Ceaușescu, Casa Albă a trimis la București un specialist, în persoana ambasadorului SUA la Moscova Jack F. Matlock, pentru a evalua situația. Jack Matlock a purtat mai întâi discuții cu personalul Ambasadei SUA de la București, iar apoi cu ministrul de Externe Sergiu Celac, adjunctul său Romulus Neagu, ministrul Justiției Teofil Pop, ministrul Cultelor Nicolae Stoicescu, cu lideri ai opoziției. În telegrama sa către Washington din 2 februarie 1990 (publicată în 2009 de WikiLeaks), Jack Matlock scria:
